Weekly Drama Classes

In a Theatre Bus drama class, we put your child in the driving seat and let their imagination zoom. Our professionally trained drama instructors call upon their energy, enthusiasm and years of experience to give your little one an experience they’ll never forget.

Classes take place in 3 different locations - Central, North Point and Fo Tan.

What happens in class?

 Your child will...

*     Create, rehearse and perform a live, costumed drama for you to watch
*     Grow in confidence
*     Learn dramatic skills and techniques
*     Learn transferable skills such as teamwork, communication and creativity
*     Make new friends
*     Have loads of fun!

What can your child expect?

Weeks 1 & 2 - Fun and games
The first 2 sessions are all about having fun and getting to know each other. In order to build confidence it is important to create an environment where everyone feels safe and secure to open up, be creative and take risks without fear of failure. Even the shyest of kids wont’t be able to leave without a smile on their face :-)

Weeks 3 & 4 - Creating our story
Once we have a great team spirit and everyone is ready to go, we will adapt our games into more creative based dramatic exercises which enourage us to think in new and exciting ways. This will enable us to begin the process of creating our drama based on anything our imaginations can think up. By being part of the creative process right from the start, students will feel more invested in the final performance... It was their idea after all!

Weeks 5 & 6 - Drama Skills and blocking
Next it’s time to learn basic, yet vital, dramatic techniques such as voice projection, character development, emotional expression and stage blocking. By the end of these weeks, our story will be almost complete.

Weeks 7, 8 & 9 - Rehearsal
After a quick physical and vocal warm-up, we will rehearse our drama. We will learn how to help each other by providing positive constructive criticism and work as a team to make our performance the best it can be. We will also select costume and add sound to provide that extra ‘wow factor.'

Week 10 - Final rehearsal and performance
Today’s the big day. It's Showtime! After a last run-though of the show it is time to invite friends, family and loved ones to come and enjoy a world premiere. Our very own self devised drama performance. All students will be awarded a certificate of completion and the highest of high-fives for their hard work.
